Main Event

Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes

This fight has changed, as it was first scheduled to be Serra vs. Hughes.  Sh*t happens, Serra got injured, and now GSP fills in for him.

This is a great fight.  GSP outclassed him last year, but I don't expect a repeat this time.  GSP has been training, but not for a fight.  Hughes, meanwhile, will be in peak form on 12/29.  This will be a 5-round fight, and that will be the difference.  I expect a ground war, and when it goes long, Hughes will have the edge.  I'm looking for him to pull the upset here.  

Prediction: Hughes will ground and pound an exhausted GSP in round 4 or 5.

Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva

BetUS.com odds: n/a

If Chuck doesn't win this, his dream of a title shot could be over.  I think he'll be fired up for this.  So will Silva, but that darn steroid testing and different rules (than PRIDE) will hamper him here just like they did at PRIDE 32.  Chuck needs to win, and I think he will.

Prediction: Liddell by TKO in round 2
